My name’s Melissa and I’d love to share a bit about my journey, what inspires me, and what making pottery means to me…

Hi there…

Our lives are made up of experiences and stories. Woven within them are the ceramic pieces we use during our morning coffee, an amazing meal a loved one used to make, and celebrations with family and friends. These pieces connect us to the people and places throughout our lives and generations before us. In my work, I explore textures, colors, and surface patterns that carry the essence of my own story of the mountains and greenery of my home state of Pennsylvania, loved ones alive and passed, and the simple things in life that bring me joy.

I believe creativity, combined with exploration, can be the balm all of us need to help us better navigate through our daily lives and the experiences we have. For me, that comes in the form of pottery. Before finding myself in Texas, I was a part of the Goggleworks Center for the Arts in Pennsylvania where I was a resident artist and taught in the ceramics studio for over a decade. To be able to make something out of clay that comes from the earth still amazes me after all these years.

Curiosity, wonder, and passion.... these are the ingredients to finding our creative voices and I'm here for it.

Let's see what we can create!
